  1. I’ll have one of each.
Is the Shelby a 40th anniversary version?
Today I had my home air conditioner serviced by a serious car buff. he told me that a new DeLorean is being created. It looks much like the original, with gull wing doors, only sleeker (I can’t imagine how). He doesn’t know who is financing it or the connection to the DeLorean Estate. Have you heard anything about it?

    1. The GT500KR was created for the 40th Anniversary of the 1968 Shelby GT500KR, a special edition of the original GT500. KR stands for “King of the Road.” 1,000 GT500KRs were made in 2008, and 571 in 2009, echoing the 1968 production run of 1,571 units.

As for the DeLorean, there is a company that had announced several years ago that they would make “new” DeLoreans, and they recently announced that they hope to begin production by fall 2021. These are being made under the Low Volume Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Act, and they look identical to the original on the outside. I don’t think there’s a relation to the DeLorean Estate.
